AICE Media Studies

 We started editing! So far, everything is so good. The entirety of class was spent editing and deliberating. Damaine brought his fancy editing skills. He started off by transferring the images from his phone to his laptop. Since the files are big, they take a little longer to load. He updated his platforms, and we discussed our title thoroughly. After a long deliberation, we decided on "The House". Personally, I feel like it captures the actual element of mystery that my group is going for. It doesn't reveal too much, nor is it boring and pointless. We are still deciding how to present our title as far as the format and when it should come up. Damaine had his own idea, but I still feel like we should talk it out more. Get everyone's opinion first, you know? We need to edit the sound more and cut the clips but other than that, we are almost done! Our clips were filmed a lot longer than we thought but I'm pretty sure we can make it work.     My group and I filmed over break. We met up at Pedro's house and got it all over with. It was so fun. The weather was so nice too.My favorite part was when Pedro fell and.. well, I cant spoil the movie just yet! Regardless, it was hilarious! Whenever we’d have downtime, we’d play with the dogs. They were so cute! Getting the right shots was somewhat difficult due to all of our height differences but that didn’t stop us one bit! We got it done. That’s what we do, get things done! After we finished, Pedro took us on his Golf Cart! A little celebratory drive, if you will. Next time we meet, we have to edit. I’m so glad we have Damaine. He knows how to edit and has all these fancy softwares. It’s so cool. Of course Damaine will be doing most or the editing but that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t be of service. Editing is the most complicated part of them all. With Damaine’s software, I doubt that’ll be that much of a problem. 

 So today we finally got started! Damaine took us to chick fil a to eat something first. After that, we said we'd go to Walmart. We soon realized the closest Walmart from us was in Pompano! That was way too far for us. Especially with these gas prices! We opted for a Target instead. Target just so happened to be in the direction we were going in. It went smoothly! It was very embarrassing having all of those people watching us though. We got someone to film a scene for us and they were so nice! When we left Target, we headed straight to Pedro's house. When we got there, it started raining! We started discussing on what we would get done, despite the rainy day. We filmed all of our indoor scenes and planned out when we could meet again. The whole process was hilarious! Everything about today was perfect. I believe it brought my group closer and definitely was an experience. I have really high expectations for everything. I can't wait to finish it though!

 So today, we almost had a change of plans AGAIN! The only people present in class today were Me and Jordyn. We were talking about Thursday's itinerary, when we received the strangest message from Damaine. He was asking if we were still on for Thursday. Jordyn and I looked at each other really confused because, what does he mean "Are we still on?". We thought we were at least! Thankfully, it was just a little check in. We're just paranoid. Unfortunately, our musical artists have yet to reply. We are getting extremely impatient. By we, I mean me! I'm starting to think the rapper from our school, or some good royalty free music might be the best way to go! I'm honestly so excited for Thursday. I don't really go out after school, and this might be the most eventful part of my entire spring break. I'm so excited. In all seriousness, I have a lot of faith in this project. Last class, my group and I discussed when we'd be filming again. Originally, we had decided on the 13th and the 19th but unfortunately, Damaine had some last-minute plans and Jordyn couldn't switch her shift. Honestly, I'm not really bothered by it. I was kind of happy. I like to spend my Sundays at home. We agreed on filming after school on the 17th. It's an early release day and we don't have school the next day so maybe we can finish in one day who knows? We figured since we'd leave on an early release day, we could stop by some place and eat and then get to Pedro's house and film. Jordyn and I are super excited to meet his dogs! This final task felt like it would take forever but it's going by so fast! I'm kind of sad, I liked prepping for this. The singers still haven't contacted my group back but it's okay. Last class, my group and I set everything straight. We realized we needed to quickly get in contact with the Artists as far as Music rights go for our final task. Originally, we had decided we would find the record label or management company and email through that, but we were having some difficulty finding that. Damiane asked our teachers how to properly get in contact with these artists and they told us to directly message them off of social media. We doubted that a celebrity would ever respond to random high schoolers, but we still tried. With these celebrities' kind of not being as popular as they were back in the day, we thought there'd still a possibility of getting a message. We planned what Jordyn and I would say, and we picked out our artists. We were formal and direct with our message. We mentioned that we were high schoolers doing a project for our AICE Media project. We messaged the singers Redfoo and Sky Blu, also known as LMFAO, for the rights to their song "
