Editing!


 We started editing! So far, everything is so good. The entirety of class was spent editing and deliberating. Damaine brought his fancy editing skills. He started off by transferring the images from his phone to his laptop. Since the files are big, they take a little longer to load. He updated his platforms, and we discussed our title thoroughly. After a long deliberation, we decided on "The House". Personally, I feel like it captures the actual element of mystery that my group is going for. It doesn't reveal too much, nor is it boring and pointless. We are still deciding how to present our title as far as the format and when it should come up. Damaine had his own idea, but I still feel like we should talk it out more. Get everyone's opinion first, you know? We need to edit the sound more and cut the clips but other than that, we are almost done! Our clips were filmed a lot longer than we thought but I'm pretty sure we can make it work. As much as I'd love to film some scenes again, I don't want to if I don't have to, you know? Damaine also showed us some of his editing tips and tricks. Damaine has a long history with editing. He even showed us some of his old edits he used to make a few years ago. He's really good!

Story Board

   During this class period, my partner and I set up our storyboard for our Crocs commercial. We decided on how the commercial would be set up first and then how we would set up the storyboard that will coordinate with our commercial. In our first box, we have the actress holding a pair of crocs to show the jibbitz/gems off that decorate the crocs. In our second box, the actor is seen putting on their crocs while they are sitting on a bench located in the school. The third box shows the actor walking with the crocs on in both sports and comfortable mode. After the shoes are shown in both of the different wearable modes, the cameraman or woman will zoom into the crocs, showing the different angles of the shoes. Finally, our last box/part of our commercial will include the actors dancing as the crocs slogan comes on the scene concluding our commercial. Genre Research: Big Catch

  When looking for comedy short films on the websites given, we were unable to find any pertaining to comedy My team and I decided that it would be best to just look for one on Youtube rather than struggling to find one on the websites. Before going to Youtube we checked the regular internet where we mainly found films in our genre but they were full length. The first film we found on Youtube was "Big Catch." This interested us first because of the thumbnail. The thumbnail for this short was a picture of a man sitting with headphones and a shark behind him smiling. Seeing this, we automatically assumed that the shark would be trying to eat this man, but we did not know how it planned on going about it. In this film, there is no dialogue but there is diegetic sound where we can hear the birds making noise, the squeaking of the the shark on the deck, and the shark screaming as he realizes he is about to be thrown back into the ocean.
