Group Blog

 New year, new group! For this particular project, I decided I was still going to work with my right-hand woman, Jordyn. We knew this was going to be a big project so therefore, we decided on adding two more people to our group, Damaine and Pedro. Jordyn and I have been friends with them since the beginning of the year but never really considered working with them. Pedro and Damaine actually worked together on the commercial in the beginning of the school year. Jordyn and I agreed that the two of them could really help us out. They both have skills that could take our film higher and higher! We do have some issues though. We have really tight schedules. Damaine, Jordyn and I all have jobs and on top of that, Jordyn, Pedro and I all take SAT prep courses at least once a week. We're trying to find a filming schedule that's compatible with everyone but finding a middle ground may be more complicated than we thought. I still think we can work it out though. If there's a how, there's a way! I know that if we really work hard enough, this may be the best project yet! Four heads are always better than one! Jordyn and I have seen issues with the boys in the past, but we made it clear that they cannot mess up the way they did in the past. We all know how much of a heavy grade this project is, we've already got that set-in stone. We're going to start brainstorming ideas next class. Jordyn and I came up with a concept for a Horror film but it's still in the works. I also came up with a brilliant ending to our film. If we go through with it, just know it was me that came up with it! I'm so ready for this project. I can't wait to work with my new group mates! Hopefully everything works out!

Story Board

   During this class period, my partner and I set up our storyboard for our Crocs commercial. We decided on how the commercial would be set up first and then how we would set up the storyboard that will coordinate with our commercial. In our first box, we have the actress holding a pair of crocs to show the jibbitz/gems off that decorate the crocs. In our second box, the actor is seen putting on their crocs while they are sitting on a bench located in the school. The third box shows the actor walking with the crocs on in both sports and comfortable mode. After the shoes are shown in both of the different wearable modes, the cameraman or woman will zoom into the crocs, showing the different angles of the shoes. Finally, our last box/part of our commercial will include the actors dancing as the crocs slogan comes on the scene concluding our commercial. Genre Research: Big Catch

  When looking for comedy short films on the websites given, we were unable to find any pertaining to comedy My team and I decided that it would be best to just look for one on Youtube rather than struggling to find one on the websites. Before going to Youtube we checked the regular internet where we mainly found films in our genre but they were full length. The first film we found on Youtube was "Big Catch." This interested us first because of the thumbnail. The thumbnail for this short was a picture of a man sitting with headphones and a shark behind him smiling. Seeing this, we automatically assumed that the shark would be trying to eat this man, but we did not know how it planned on going about it. In this film, there is no dialogue but there is diegetic sound where we can hear the birds making noise, the squeaking of the the shark on the deck, and the shark screaming as he realizes he is about to be thrown back into the ocean.
